DISH Network HDTV
HDTV is a broadcast medium whereby programs are transmitted in a digital
format. HD broadcasting utilizes 1,125 lines of resolution, as opposed to
only 525 lines of resolution regular analog broadcasts use. The more lines
of resolution the sharper and clearer the picture.
The audio portion of the broadcast signal is also transmitted in digital
format so you get a richer, more realistic sound.

three-dimensional listening experience.
Widescreen format
DISH Network HDTV programs are broadcast in widescreen format, similar to
what you see in a movie theater. This wider format - a 16:9 aspect ratio as
opposed to a 4:3 standard ratio - lets you see more of the picture and makes
you feel like you're part of the scene.

DISH Network will give you up to two free HDTV receivers when you subscribe
to their programming service. They will also give you the rest of the
satellite TV equipment you need for free.

* The Platinum package has 25 HD channels and 350 regular satellite TV
channels, including 60 Sirius satellite radio channels, for $79.99 per
month.
